Garlic Prawns 🍃

We spend every summer in Mallorca. Our favourite activity is visiting the outdoor markets to buy the freshest ingredients. One of the dishes we love preparing is prawns cooked in extra virgin olive oil and garlic, served with a crusty baguette and a green salad.

Ingredients:

  • 500g king prawns (peeled and deveined)
  • 5–6 large cloves of garlic (thinly sliced)
  • ½–1 tsp chilli flakes or 1 fresh chilli (chopped)
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • Sea salt to taste
  • Fresh parsley (chopped)
  • Fresh lemon juice

Method:

  1. Heat the olive oil in a frying pan over medium heat. Once hot, add the garlic.
  2. Fry the garlic and chilli flakes for a few minutes, then add the prawns and salt.
  3. Cook the prawns for 3–4 minutes on each side, or until they are cooked through. Squeeze over fresh lemon juice and sprinkle with parsley.
  4. Serve hot with a crusty baguette and a green salad.
